Reading Fest

So this week I heard on the radio that 97.1 was hosting this reading fest at the celeste center and kids were free and adults 5.00 a piece, it sounded interesting so I told Brad, lets check it out I think Emma will really like it because she loves books. It was so cool! We got there at 10 when it opened and wow, so much to do! Emma immediately went right for the inflatable jumpers. I think she could of stayed there all day, in this picture they had a portable library set up and different people reading stories all day, we heard this lady read and do a puppet show, we listened to andrea cambern read, and some of ronald mcdonald. When you arrived you got a book that a former OSU football player wrote and he was going to be there later in the afternoon to read it, but I knew we would not make it that long. It was well worth the trip and I plan on going next year, recommend it to all!
They also had face painting, I had no idea whether Emma would sit still or not, but she did great and had this pretty rose on her face, until we got home for naptime and then she started scratching it off, but it turned out pretty cute.

There were many characters there, Classic Pooh, Berenstein Bears, Clifford, Strawberry Shortcake. As you can tell Emma was unsure about these.. She would say Pooh, but then clung with all her might to mommy... UGH, makes me worry how she will do at Disney, but hopefully she will warm up.

Go Monarchs!

Emma and her papa Gilbert..Marvin comes to the games many times also and of course he has to get his Emma time in, he just adores Emma and of course he doesn't spoil her one bit.. Ha!
Emma had to check out what daddy's job was all about

Brad and I have always been big Marysville sports fans and supporters. We enjoy going to the football games and of course I work for the schools and coach softball, but Brad amazingly enough has been doing the scoreboard clock for 21 YEARS for the Marysville High School boys basketball team...Wow! He began this right out of high school and just has never stopped. It amazes me that he has done this for so long and in all the years we have been together I have never gotten any pictures so last night I decided to take some.

First Love...

Emma and Damon, first true love...
Every Sunday they have to see each other and
always hug..........
Emma and Damon's love affair began this past summer during the church softball league on Sunday nights that Daddy and Dustin both played on. So every Sunday night I would take Emma out to St. Johns and many of the church families would also be there.... Emma and Damon quickly became an item, and seemed to follow each other everywhere there and played with each other on the playground... so darn cute to watch. It continued on Sunday mornings at church or whenever we would see the Wade family. They always have to see each other, and whatever Emma is busy being a toddler doing, whenever she sees Damon she quickly puts her task down and goes over and gives him a big hug, well on this past occasion our church secretary snapped a photo of them as they were caught smootching... ow boy, what do Leigh and I have to look forward too! It is very cute to watch now, and I hope that they continue to be friends forever.... now the kissing part of course will have to stop, ha, ha until they are 18, but how fun it will be to share these pictures with them 10 years from now....

Terrible Toddler Zone....

Sleeping peacefully after successfully destroying her bedroom
The crib is now moved away from the wall until daddy and mommy decide what to do next...

So, I have had a great couple of days off school being home with Emma and was looking forward to the long weekend also... my thoughts quickly changed a couple hours ago when after putting Emma down for a nap, I went upstairs to put laundry away and what to my wondering eyes did appear but my 20 month old daughter ripping the mickey mouse wallpaper off of her wall by her crib.... ow my god was all I could say, as many other choice words were going thru my head and I am sure one of them slipped out, she just looked at me and said "mommy, poopy, sorry".... so how do I react to this as I realized her room is now ruined, she immediately started crying and I called her father to tell him the great news, of course Brad stays all calm and says its ok Tara, it is just wallpaper, it could of been worse...isn't it amazing that she ripped exactly the amount of how long her crib is... of course she had not napped because she was too busy having a paper ripping party, so I got her to sleep and I tried to calm down and just sat there a minute in the rocker by her bed and was like ow boy, the joy of parenting, our first terrible toddler moment.... but I still love her and realized she is only 20 months old and the fun has just begun.... but she will be on my list for awhile....

More Snow Fun..I Could Not Resist

Ow my goodness what a blast we had for about a half hour today. I got an early release from school and when I got home with Emma several of the kids were coming outside. We all had a blast. The snow plow had come thru and several of the kids in the neighborhood had built a little fort and so Emma and her friend Riley, who is going to be 2 next month plopped themselves down right next to all the kids. Then Josh and Deana got out there big tube and were taking the kids around with there four wheeler. Deanna asked if I wanted Emma to go for a ride, I said sure, if she wants to why not. By gooly she did it and Josh went really slow just in a little circle and she kept saying weeee... It really was fun despite the fact of taking 20 minutes to get ready and all those layers and then taking all those layers off and the snow that came in the house. I smiled and laughed so figured it was worth it.

Snow Much Fun!

What a fun time! Papa Weber got Emma this sled for christmas and mommy was just dying to get you out for your first play in the snow since you were just a baby last year. So, even though the snow was more ice covered than snow covered mommy, daddy and Emma decided to venture out. She loved it!! Daddy and mommy both pulled Emma around and she would say WEEEEE. We even ventured out to the little hill we have in our front yard and daddy decided to see if Emma would like it, well needless to say she did it once and ten times later daddy had to say he was tired! It was a great first adventure and now I can not wait until we actually get some real snow to make a snowman! Emma even fell down and even though she got snow on her face and hat she just said uh-oh cold...

The joy of Friendship

I had to post this picture number one because I love it, and number two because these people have special places in my heart and always will. This is my share group, it is part of the Emmaus community and we get together and talk about our faith lives and share prayer requests and lots of times just chat about our lives! It is amazing. This was taken at our annual Christmas dinner at Bravo's. Yum! I always know that if I need a prayer request, these girls are there. I always look forward to getting together and the love is always there. Thank you for being a blessing to me in my life, Robin, Jen(and soon baby girl ), Margo and Christy.

Bathtime Fun

I am amazed at how much Emma loves the water! She is definantly going to be a water baby! When I say it is bathtime she gets all excited and climbs up the steps, goes straight to the bathtub, and then trys to undress herself in excitement. She loves playing with her toys, the bubbles, and I think would stay in there all night if we let her. She also loves to splash, but of course that gets out of control sometimes and we quickly have to put a stop to that!

Christmas Pictures

I decided to put some Christmas pictures on here to share with all of you... I just love Christmas, not only because we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but also to be with family. My favorite part this year of course was seeing it thru Emma's eyes and the smiles on her face. This year Christmas was really busy, but it always is for us. We always have spent Christmas Eve with Brad's parents, aunt and grandma. Well, she passed away this year, so we had them come out to our house to have dinner, exchange gifts and go to 7pm. church. Emma did wonderful and we woke up bright and early Christmas morning as we had to be at my dad's house at 8am. We had christmas there and headed up to Indian Lake to my grandma weber's to be with aunts and uncles and cousins. By golly, then we headed back to my dad's house as my stept-moms family was coming over at 4pm to have dinner and christmas. Then at 6 we went out to Brad's extended family for another dinner and they play euchre, but needless to say, we didn't make it for cards. I think I fell asleep in the car on the way home from pure exhaustion!!! On Friday night we then had christmas with Brads mom side of the family, and you know what, it was so nice because we didn't have to rush anywhere. I love it that we have both sides of our family close, but realized that definantly next year, we are going to ask to try and spread it out a little bit, so we can atleast stay home Christmas morning as a family. Emma was such a trooper, I could not believe how well she did.

Gymnastics Time

Yes, I will admit it... I am a sucker and signed Emma up for toddler gymnastics thru our YMCA. I am so glad that I did now though. Monday night we experienced our first time at the Y annex and I was very impressed. I wanted something to do with her this winter and as active as she is climbing and running around I thought what the heck. I even broke down and bought her a little leotard, but hey, she has to look cute right?? Emma had 4 others in her class and she just went to town and really didnt seem to care whether mom or dad were around or not, until the end when she got tired. She loved it! She watched the other kids go thru the tunnels, climb on the beam, do tumbles, and she just went right along! I was amazed but also exhausted at the end! My favorite part had to be when she was running down to jump on the board to do a summersolt, so cool! Something about seeing her little legs move and run.

ELMO Land

Ok, so I got addicted looking at my babysitter's blog and decided that I wanted to get on this bandwagon too. Yes, I added another thing to do on my list, but knew that I would love getting to this so here goes my first shot....

Emma is our lovely daughter who is 191/2 months old and has officially entered into Elmo' world. The song is soooo true. Our living room is no longer just for Brad and I, but filled with everything you can imagine Elmo and Emma enjoys playing with her Elmo's and babies and I could not resist taking a picture of her sitting on her princess couch that grammie and papa gave her for christmas with all of her Elmo's. What is it with this red animal? I will enjoy it while it lasts, but must admit that sometimes her Elmo live is 'taking a nap' and not able to talk to her...thank God for those on and off switches!!!
